WAALHELLA 8 / Cirith Gorgor, Sammath, Asgrauw, Azanul

WAALHELLA ZONDAG 18 DECEMBER / THE BLACK EDITION

Door Covid kon eerder de editie niet doorgaan. Maar dat pakken we weer op met een nog vettere line-up!

CIRITH GORGOR
Cirith Gorgor represent one of the longest existing and most well-known black metal bands from the
Netherlands. Holding high the banner of the Horned One since 1993, the band have built up a solid
reputation by delivering furious and uncompromising black metal. Their first two albums were released
on Osmose Productions, notorious for releasing some of the most renowned international artists. Apart
from their widely acclaimed and high-quality studio releases, the band have executed numerous live
rituals throughout Europe. These occult performances are characterized by an intense and ominous
atmosphere as the band deliver their refined black metal with ice-cold precision. Now, after more than 25
years of existence, Cirith Gorgor are more determined than ever to spread their black art through the
desecration of stages and by conquering the allegiance of extreme metal fans worldwide. After teaming
up with the internationally acclaimed Hammerheart Records, the band moved into a more nihilistic and
straightforward direction without sacrificing any of their strength and intensity. The release of the latest album “Sovereign”, a sophisticated yet blatantly brutal opus, is a further triumph on their path to spiritual glory.

SAMMATH
Sammath kennen we hier in de regio allemaal. Gas erop. Deze band heeft geen lange bio nodig. Zoals ze het zelf beschrijven:
“Utter terror in musical form! Destroying your soul since 1994!”

ASGRAUW
The Dutch black metal band Asgrauw is active since 2010. While ‘Schijngestalten’ showed straight-forward old skool influences. More atmospheric and melancholic vibe, affected by the great 90’s Scandinavian hordes like Ulver, Emperor, Dodheimsgard and Darkthrone, is what you observe on ‘Krater’. ‘Gronspech’, which is performed in local dialect, was well received by the press.

Their new album “Facade” has just been released. First reviews are exactly what we think about it.

“So if you don’t need your black metal in any dissonant, post-, pre- or in between wrap or you only can listen to it when the production is done so soft that even your granny can listen to it and your favorite albums are still originated in the 90s, you have to check Façade. It won’t disappoint you!

Rating: 9.6 out of 10 foul tulips”

AZANUL
Old Dutch black metal project from the Irrwisch / Widergeist / Northward / Aurvandil circle. Raw black metal with lots of creative riffs and melodies, and good actual song writing. Band released two demos in 2005 and 2009. Now the third demo, written over a period of 15 years is out.
